Takeuchi Introduces New 3.5-ton Short Tail Swing Excavator

Sakaki-Machi, Japan (Sept. 1, 2022): Takeuchi has added the new generation TB335R short tail swing compact excavator to its TB300 Series. This excavator features a sophisticated interior and exterior design as well as enhanced safety, security and power functions.

“The TB335R is a compact, short tail swing excavator with minimal overhang behind the operator’s seat, making it ideal for working in tight or confined spaces,” said Clay Eubanks, director of global sales for Takeuchi. “It also provides outstanding stability rarely found in a short tail swing machine, along with smooth, intuitive controls that help operators tackle tough jobs with ease.”

The TB335R has an operating weight of 3,760 kgs. (8,290 lbs.), a maximum bucket breakout force of 27.1 kN (6,090 lbs.) and a maximum arm digging force of 20.6 kN (4,630 lbs.) The excavator is powered by an EU Stage V / EPA Tier 4 emission-compliant engine delivering 18.2 kW (24.4 hp) and a maximum torque of 95.8 Nm (70.6 ft-lbs). The TB335R offers two working modes – Standard and ECO – allowing operators to match the mode to the task at hand, choosing fuel savings or more power as desired.

The TB335R’s spacious cab offers a wide range of advanced features including a 7.0-inch touchscreen, multi-function color display. Canopy models offer a 4.3-inch multi-informational display. Cab models also feature heat, defrost, windshield wiper and washer, skylight w/ sunshade and DAB digital radio with Bluetooth technology (air conditioning and rain guard are optional.) On both cab and canopy models, a deluxe high-back suspension seat with head rests and a two-inch retractable seat belt help keep operators comfortable and productive.

The Takeuchi Fleet Management (TFM) telematics system is optional on the TB335R. With TFM, owners and operators can remotely connect to their Takeuchi track loaders and excavators. TFM delivers alerts and machine information such as location, utilization, performance and maintenance status, as well as insights into how and where equipment is being operated.

According to Toshiya Takeuchi, president, “Takeuchi provides construction machinery that is deeply related to housing and infrastructure and continues to support our daily lives as an indispensable product for urban development and its maintenance. Our products have earned the trust of our customers, not only for their digging ability, but also for their outstanding durability and stability, smooth and intuitive operation and superior comfort that reduces fatigue even after long hours of operation.”

Takeuchi to Produce Compact Track Loaders at New U.S. Facility

Atlanta, GA
(April 26, 2022): Takeuchi-US has officially closed on the purchase of its first North American manufacturing facility. The new facility, located in Moore, South Carolina in the United States, will manufacture compact track loaders, with production expected to launch in late 2022.

Currently, Takeuchi produces all its compact track loaders at its head office factory in Sakaki, Nagano, Japan. However, more than 90 percent of this production is consumed in North America. Producing machines at the new South Carolina facility will allow Takeuchi to increase its domestic suppliers and help alleviate supply chain issues caused by recent international events.

“Investing in a manufacturing facility closer to our end users will allow Takeuchi to shorten lead times and establish a more responsive supply system for our North American customers,” said Toshiya Takeuchi, president for Takeuchi. “Because the greatest demand for our compact track loaders is in the U.S., manufacturing these machines in South Carolina will be faster and more efficient delivery for our customers. We’re very proud and excited to launch this new venture, and we know it will generate significant benefits for our company, and more importantly, our customers.”

Located off the Moore-Duncan Highway, Takeuchi’s new facility consists of three buildings – a 156,000-square-foot production facility, a 17,000 square-foot office building and a 3,200 square-foot demonstration center, all sitting on about 77 acres. Takeuchi has already started hiring employees to work at the new facility, and the company expects to generate approximately 100 new jobs there by the time production at the new plant begins.

“Bringing some of our manufacturing to the Southeastern United States demonstrates Takeuchi’s dedication to the North American market and this region we call home,” said Jeff Stewart, president of Takeuchi-US. “This new facility will challenge us to find new and better ways to manufacture our products, create more jobs locally where our products are used and allow us to develop long relationships and better cooperation with the local economy.”

Takeuchi Adds TB257FR Excavator to Their Lineup

TAKEUCHI JAPAN – Takeuchi Mfg., an innovative global leader in compact equipment has launched the TB257FR compact hydraulic excavator, successor to the TB153FR. The TB257FR features a side-to-side offset boom combined with the tight tail swing enabling it to rotate fully with very little overhang.

The TB257FR features an operating weight of 5,840 kg, a dig depth of 3,895 mm, maximum reach of 6,215 mm, bucket breakout force of 36.6 kN, and provides excellent working range and performance. The side-to-side boom feature enables the TB257FR to dig offset to the right or left side without needing to reposition the machine. In addition, this feature allows more of the counterweight to remain in line with the center of the machine which greatly enhances stability. Another advantage of this system is the boom’s ability to be stowed over center which allows the TB257FR to perform a full rotation nearly within the width of the track. This makes it ideal for working in a variety of confined job sites including road and bridge work, city streets, and in between buildings.

Powering the TB257FR is a turbocharged diesel engine delivering a rated output of 39.0 kW and 195.6 Nm of maximum torque, the TB257FR delivers exceptional power and efficiency. In addition, this powerful engine provides best-in-class traction force of 66.9 kN. A DOC and DPF exhaust aftertreatment system ensures compliance EU Stage V / US Tier 4 emissions standards and provides environmentally friendly operation.

An available cab for the TB257FR provides an automotive styled interior equipped with optional air conditioner, defrost, windshield wiper and washer, skylight with sunshade, AM/FM/MP3 Bluetooth radio, and a high back suspension seat with head rest. The cabin of the TB257FR is designed specifically to minimize fatigue and keep the operator comfortable throughout the workday.

“Takeuchi is excited to offer our customers the TB257FR” says Toshiya Takeuchi, President of Takeuchi. “Takeuchi’s commitment to our tradition of innovation and advancing technology is showcased in this machine. The side-to-side offset boom allows for greater working versatility, and the low center of gravity and optimized counterweight placement creates an extremely stable platform with lifting capabilities similar to that of a conventional machine.”
